The Wandering Reader
About me
Hi! I'm Heather — a travel agent based in Oregon. I specialize in Disney, Universal, and beyond, and I spend my days doing the thing most people dread: comparing resort options, chasing down discounts, building day-by-day plans that actually work for real families — including families managing things like POTS and other health considerations that most standard trip planning ignores.
I live with a chronic illness myself, so I understand firsthand how challenging navigating the parks can be — the heat, the lines, the sheer amount of walking. That's exactly what I'm best at: building trips that work with your body, not against it. Living with a chronic illness doesn't mean you can't travel. It just means your trip needs a plan built by someone who actually gets it.
I got into this work because I love the moment when a trip stops feeling overwhelming and starts feeling possible. Whether you're dreaming of a Disney World first-timer trip, an all-inclusive escape in Mexico, running wild across Europe, or something you haven't even landed on yet, I take all the open tabs, the second-guessing, and the "wait, is this actually a good deal?" off your plate — so you can get straight to the good part: actually going.
Traveling and reading are my two favorite ways to get lost — one takes me somewhere new, the other takes me there without ever leaving my couch. When I'm not building someone else's itinerary, I'm usually deep in a book with a cup of something warm — one week it's a slow-burn romance on the Italian coast, the next it's a mystery that has me googling things at midnight. That love of wandering, on the page and in real life, is where this blog's name comes from, and why you'll still find the occasional book-and-destination pairing here alongside the planning guides.
Let's plan something amazing together.
Pack light. Read freely. Wander always.

Rope drop or late arrival? Deluxe resort or off-property value pick? Lightning Lane strategy that actually accounts for rest breaks? This is the stuff I geek out over daily.
Every itinerary I build starts with how you move through a day — not just what's popular, but what's sustainable, especially if you're managing a chronic illness and need real breaks built into the plan, not squeezed in as an afterthought.
Wondering if you're actually getting the best price for your family? I track discounts, room offers, and package deals so you don't have to — and I'll tell you honestly when a deal is worth it and when it's not.
Dreaming of Disney, an all-inclusive in Mexico, or running wild across Europe? Hand me the tabs, the research, and the second-guessing — I'll turn it into a plan you can actually enjoy.

Real park strategy, real packing lists, real itineraries — built from actual trips, not guesswork. If you want the details behind the "how," this is where I put them.
Not sure what kind of trip even fits you yet? You'll find that here too — guides that help you think through what actually suits your family, your budget, and your energy level, not just what's trending.
Every month I go deep on everything Disney has to offer — parks, cruises, Adventures by Disney, and more — plus a book I loved paired with a destination it makes me want to visit, practical guides on navigating Disney with a chronic illness, high-sodium dining options, and where to actually cool down when the heat hits.
Whether you're planning your own trip or just love living vicariously through someone else's spreadsheet, pull up a chair.
Pack light. Read freely. Wander always.
